Beauty, to me, is about being comfortable in your own skin. That, or a kick-ass red lipstick.

Beauty Quickie: Remove Sand Easily!

Beach days are definitely here!  A day of fun at the beach can be great for replenishing your energy, taking a refreshing splash in the salty water and letting your body absorb some healthy Vitamin D from the sunrays.  The sand is also nice to lay on and feel under your toes.  But…when it has to come off the body, it’s annoying as hell!

That’s why you should always take a mini bottle of Baby Powder with you when you hit the beach.  Once you’re out of there, sprinkle some powder on the areas where you see and feel the most sand (usually the legs and feet) and the sand should fall riiiight off!

Revlon Metallic “Gold Coin” Nail Polish

I’ve been doing the natural thing (aka no nail polish) on my nails for quite a while now and decided to spice it up a bit last night.  Honestly, I’m not huge on nails or nail art. A french manicure is all I need, if that!  So I went for my fittingly small collection and marvelled at my Revlon Metallic nail polish #925 in “Gold Coin”, which I had totally forgotten I purchased a few months back.

It was a definite hit.  Everyone at work kept asking me if I had gotten Minx, which was a compliment since I originally bought this nail polish trying to immitate the Minx nail finish.  Here are some pix.

Sephora Daze

Going through some albums on my personal Facebook, I came across these oldies from my days as a Sephora make-up artist:

Red Lips Series: Celebs

Red lips are a secret weapon us women use to bring out our inner fox all while holding up elegance and glamour.  I love red lipstick, there’s just something about wearing this shade that doesn’t compare to any other color out there.  It just screams femininity.

Here are some celebs wearing different shades of red on their lips!

Adrienne Bailon

Angela Simmons

Alicia Keys

Gabrielle Union

Rihanna

As you can see, some shades are very warm (with a hint of orange) while others have more of a blue undertone which makes for a deep red (think strawberries).

Not every shade of red looks right on everyone, however, so stay tuned for a video by a popular online make-up guru that shows you how to pick your perfect shade depending on your skin tone!

Ruby Woo

I am on my Ruby Woo shit today!  This matte red lipstick by MAC is all that :D  The shade is perfect on my skin tone.  Not all types of red will look good on everyone and sometimes finding the perfect red can be an ordeal.  I’m glad I found mine!

I have a few more red lipsticks that look great on me as well.  I might make a post comparing all of them soon!
